📌Key Benefits of the New Onboarding Process
✅Silent sign-on
✅Automatic permission granting,
✅Users are only prompted to grant essential permissions, making the process quicker and more streamlined.
✅The onboarding process is compatible with multiple Android profiles, including BYOD, COPE, and fully-managed environments, offering broad coverage and flexibility across different organizational needs.
📌Set up is straightforward
As an Admin:
✅Push the Defender for Endpoint app to the target user group.
✅Push a VPN profile to the user’s device.
✅In Apps > Application configuration policies, select Managed Devices. ✅Name the policy, choose Android Enterprise as the platform, select the appropriate profile type, and target the Microsoft Defender: Antivirus app.
✅Add runtime permissions, including Location access (fine) (not supported for Android 13+), POST_NOTIFICATIONS, and set them to Auto grant.
As a User:
✅Download the Company Portal app and set up your work profile with your credentials.
✅Follow prompts in the Company Portal to onboard the Defender for Endpoint app.
✅Open the Defender for Endpoint app, which will sign you in automatically and direct you to a permissions screen. Grant the necessary permissions to complete onboarding.
