HUGE UPDATE: Microsoft Defender Threat Intelligence (MDTI) will be available at no additional cost*
Microsoft Defender Threat Intelligence (MDTI) is now being fully integrated into Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR, unlocking a more connected, efficient, and powerful experience for SOC teams and threat hunters.
Here is what’s coming:
🔹Context-rich threat intel, right where you work
No more switching portals. Threat actor insights, campaign context, and IOCs will now appear directly within your Sentinel and Defender workflows — speeding up investigations and boosting confidence.
🔹Smarter entity pages in Sentinel
Visualise relationships, pivot across indicators, and dive deep into threat activity using graph-based exploration, powered by MDTI.
🔹Defender XDR gets a powerful boost
MDTI data now fuels Defender XDR’s analytics, helping you detect, correlate, and respond to complex threats faster than ever.
🔹One unified platform experience
The standalone MDTI portal will gradually retire as Microsoft brings those capabilities natively into Sentinel and Defender XDR — simplifying access and making intel more actionable.
*Existing MDTI customers will continue to have full access to their current MDTI experience until the product is retired on August 1, 2026. They will be contacted by their account team or partner with guidance on next steps and how to reduce their current license and transition to this new unified threat intelligence experience in Defender XDR or Sentinel at no additional cost.
**The convergence of MDTI value into Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR will take place over the course of several months and be completed by the first half of next year.
